Aurender A1000 – music server, streamer and DAC in one
The Aurender A1000 music server is an all-in-one solution combining a DAC, streamer and preamplifier — built by South Korean manufacturer Aurender for audiophiles who refuse to compromise on sound quality or ease of use. The A1000 pairs an AKM4490REQ dual-mono DAC chip with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor, each running from its own dedicated low-noise linear power supply, housed in a precision-machined aluminium chassis with a 6.9-inch full-colour IPS LCD display.
Dual-Mono DAC with Separate Linear Supplies
The AKM4490REQ dual-mono configuration delivers a natural, detailed sonic character with high resolution and excellent transparency. Crucially, both the DAC chip and processor are each powered by their own linear toroidal supply — a design that minimises current draw per transformer and keeps noise and distortion exceptionally low. The result is a pitch-black background with full dynamic headroom. Supported formats include PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and native DSD512.
Versatile Connectivity for Any System
The Aurender A1000 music server works as a streaming DAC, USB DAC, preamplifier driving a power amplifier directly, or as a digital hub in a home theatre system. HDMI ARC input makes TV integration straightforward. Digital inputs cover coaxial RCA, optical Toslink, USB Type B and HDMI ARC. Digital outputs are coaxial RCA and USB for an external DAC. The RCA analogue outputs can be set to fixed or variable mode for direct amplifier connection.
Streaming, Storage and the Conductor App
The Aurender A1000 music server supports TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay and Google Cast — including Qobuz via Chromecast Audio. Bluetooth AptX-HD adds wireless streaming from mobile devices. Internal storage is optional: fit a 2.5-inch SSD or HDD up to 8 TB, or leave the bay empty for a pure streaming setup. The Aurender Conductor app for iOS and Android puts full control of playback, library management and system settings in your hand.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Aurender A1000 music server connect directly to a power amplifier?
Yes. The DAC-level lossless volume control allows direct connection to a power amplifier without an external preamplifier. Set the RCA output to variable mode and the A1000 handles level control transparently.
Can I use the A1000 without internal storage?
Yes. The storage bay can remain empty for a pure streaming configuration — you only pay for capacity if you need it. Adding a local library later is simply a matter of installing a 2.5-inch SSD or HDD up to 8 TB.
How does the Aurender A1000 compare to higher Aurender models?
The A1000 combines streamer, server and DAC in one accessible package with single-ended RCA outputs. Higher Aurender models such as the N20 and W20SE add balanced XLR outputs, more elaborate clock architecture and heavier power supplies for an even lower noise floor and greater dynamic reserves.
