The Aurender A200 network player is the entry point to Aurender's A-series — a single-box digital source combining DAC, streamer and preamplifier in one compact chassis. It uses an AKM4490 DAC with MQA full-decoding, three discrete toroidal transformers and an FPGA clock with sub-100 femtosecond jitter reduction. The Aurender A200 network player delivers the core Aurender experience — cache-based playback, the Conductor app and a linear power supply — at the most accessible point in the range.
The Aurender Way, at a Real-World Price
Aurender built its reputation on one principle: cache everything before playback begins. The A200 network player is no different. Music is loaded to a 240 GB SSD cache before it plays — storage drives go idle, network activity stops, and the signal path gets as quiet as it can be. Three discrete toroidal transformers keep the server, digital outputs and DAC on separate, shielded supplies. The FPGA clock generator works to sub-100 femtosecond jitter — a specification more commonly associated with considerably more expensive components.
Flexible Storage, Straightforward Connectivity
Two user-installable bays accept 2.5-inch SSDs or HDDs up to 8 TB each — up to 16 TB of local library if needed, or leave them empty and stream. Coaxial RCA and optical Toslink digital inputs allow a CD transport, TV or other digital source to benefit from the Aurender A200 network player's DAC. Single-ended RCA analogue outputs can be run variable or fixed — connect directly to a power amplifier, or feed a preamplifier as a fixed-level source.
Streaming and the Conductor App
TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify Connect and AirPlay are all supported natively. A double-isolated gigabit Ethernet port keeps network noise away from the audio circuitry. Control comes via the Aurender Conductor app for iOS and Android — widely regarded as one of the better-designed streaming interfaces available — or the supplied machined-aluminium IR remote.

Can the A200 drive a power amplifier directly?

Does the A200 work without internal storage fitted?
