Electric Audio PAE 150 DV – stereo power amplifier with dual mono architecture

Electric Audio PAE 150 DV power amplifier — pure output stage engineering

The Electric Audio PAE 150 DV is a pure stereo power amplifier — no preamp stage, no input selector, just a direct path from source to speaker. Electric Audio is a German brand and subsidiary of Gauder Akustik, bringing decades of loudspeaker engineering into amplifier design. The DV designation marks an uprated build: a heavier power supply, doubled capacitor bank and premium connectors throughout.

Power supply and current delivery

Under the hood sits a 1,000 VA toroidal transformer and a 160,000 µF capacitor bank — twice the capacity of the standard version. Output is 132 W per channel into 8 ohms, 218 W into 4 ohms and 366 W into 2 ohms, with peak current capability reaching 70 amps. Because each channel runs its own dedicated board and supply, crosstalk and phase integrity remain unaffected even under demanding loads.

Signal path and connectivity

The signal path is fully analogue and kept as short as physically possible. Input options are one RCA or one XLR — your choice depending on what sits upstream. A modest per-channel level trim also allows flexible integration in bi-amping configurations alongside the Electric Audio TAE 150 DV. Used standalone, it works with any competent preamplifier or integrated amplifier with a preamp output.

Build quality and production

Every unit is built in Germany, tested, then run in for 24 hours before a final check. As a result, each amplifier leaves the factory fully verified. The DV version uses WBT speaker terminals with a locking mechanism — practical for bi-wire installations. At 435×195×390 mm and 22 kg, it sits comfortably in a standard component rack.

Frequently asked questions about the Electric Audio PAE 150 DV

What does the DV designation mean?

DV stands for Double Vision — Electric Audio's label for an uprated specification. Key upgrades over the standard model include a 1,000 VA toroidal transformer, a 160,000 µF capacitor bank, a premium power cable with gold-plated contacts and locking WBT speaker terminals.

Can the PAE 150 DV be used without the TAE 150 DV?

Yes — it operates as a fully standalone unit with any preamplifier or integrated amplifier that has a preamp output. Bi-amping with the TAE 150 DV is an option, not a requirement.

Which input does the PAE 150 DV use?

One RCA and one XLR are provided. Either connects directly to the amplifier stage with no additional switching in the signal path — choose whichever suits your upstream component.
