The Takumi turntable is designed and built in the Netherlands by Rik Stoet, owner of Rik Stoet High End Audio in The Hague. While his family background in valve amplifiers and audio transformers runs deep, Stoet channelled that heritage into a turntable line that combines precise engineering with musical honesty.
TT level 1.1
The Takumi TT level 1.1 is the entry model. Although it is the most accessible Takumi, it shares the core principles of the larger models: a resonance-optimised acrylic chassis, belt drive, and the same titanium tonearm tube as the level 2.1DC. Furthermore, the acrylic platter and record are mechanically decoupled from the chassis. Available in black and transparent acrylic.
TT level 2.1DC
The Takumi TT level 2.1DC takes things further with an electronically regulated DC motor and the external SpeedPod. Since playback speed can be adjusted between 33.33 and 45 RPM in steps of 0.01 RPM, precise pitch control is always within reach. Moreover, the SpeedPod tucks neatly beneath the chassis for a clean, uncluttered appearance.
TT level 3.1
The Takumi TT level 3.1 is the flagship of the Takumi turntable range. Its platter is machined from Delrin, a material whose properties closely mirror those of vinyl, keeping mechanical resonance to a minimum. The plinth is constructed from solid wood — beech or walnut — finished with two acrylic layers. Finally, an integrated tonearm rest at the front gives the design its signature minimalist feel.
Five moving-coil cartridges
Besides its turntables, Takumi offers a hand-assembled range of moving-coil cartridges in five versions. Starting at the entry level, the Aka uses an aluminium cantilever for smooth, reliable tracking. Moving up, the Kuro and Shiro introduce a boron cantilever for greater detail and transient speed. However, it is the Kin — with its ruby cantilever — that brings exceptional calm and precision. At the top sits the Myo, with a sapphire cantilever and a frequency response extending to 28 kHz.
