Morel loudspeakers come from a company that has designed drivers and speakers since 1975. As a result, Morel controls every element of the design, from magnet system to cabinet. The Avyra series
The name Avyra means ambience, and that captures the intent well. Morel builds every speaker in the range by hand in its own factory. Moreover, CNC machining shapes each MDF cabinet with great precision, including the sculpted side panels. Because the cabinet breaks away from the simple box, the Avyra looks as distinctive as it sounds.
Core technology
At the heart of every Avyra sits a one-piece 160 mm DPC cone (Damped Polymer Composite). Therefore, break-up, distortion and colouration stay low, so voices and instruments keep their natural character. Besides the cone, Morel uses a 75 mm aluminium EVC (External Voice Coil). Since its large surface sheds heat efficiently, the driver stays composed even when the music gets loud. Finally, a handcrafted 28 mm Acuflex soft dome tweeter delivers clean, open treble.
Avyra 622 and Avyra 633
The Avyra 622 is a compact two-way design with a single 160 mm mid/bass driver. Because its reflex port sits at the rear, it performs best on stands, a little away from the wall. The Avyra 633 is the floorstanding sibling, a 2.5-way design with two 160 mm drivers. While the 622 keeps things compact, the 633 adds deeper bass and greater scale.
Avyra Soundstand B1
For the 622, Morel designed the matching Avyra Soundstand B1. The stand follows the same design language as the speaker. Furthermore, sturdy spikes provide stability and reduce vibration. Finally, Morel tuned its height for optimal sound dispersion.
