Pass Labs INT-25 integrated amplifier – pure Class A with the shortest possible signal path
Fewer parts, more music
The Pass Labs INT-25 is built around a single conviction: every additional stage in the signal path costs more than it contributes. Consequently, it contains only what is strictly necessary — a pure Class A amplifier stage without degenerative feedback, paired with a minimalist line-level preamplifier. Since the circuit is stripped of everything non-essential, it therefore sounds immediate, fast and emotionally direct in a way that more complex designs rarely match. Above all, it is the integrated amplifier for those who value musical truth over specification sheets.
The XA25 circuit in an integrated chassis
The amplifier circuit is essentially identical to that of the Pass Labs XA25 power amplifier — Class A push-pull without degenerative feedback, 25 W per channel into 8 ohms. As a result, it shares the directness, tonal richness and immediate dynamic response of the XA25 in a more compact and accessible package. Furthermore, the circuit operates entirely in Class A at all times — there is no transition to Class B at higher output levels. The character is thereby consistent from the quietest passage to full volume.
Where the magic happens — everyday listening levels
The INT-25 excels at normal listening volumes — the level at which most music is actually heard. Voices sit in the room rather than behind the speakers, guitars have body and shimmer, and timing feels locked-in without sounding forced. Since the volume control operates in 1 dB steps over a 63 dB range, gain adjustment is moreover exceptionally precise at low levels. The result is an integrated that combines the nuance of a reference preamplifier with the directness of a pure Class A output stage.
Hand-built in Auburn, California
Pass Labs designs and builds every unit in Auburn, California. Three line inputs and an included remote make it straightforward to use in virtually any listening room. Stereophile included it in their Recommended Components list from 2020 through 2023, and Enjoy the Music awarded it their Blue Note Award in 2021. Those needing more power can consider the INT-60, which delivers 60 W with the same Class A character.

Frequently asked questions about the Pass Labs INT-25
Which loudspeakers suit the INT-25?
With 25 W of pure Class A, it works best with loudspeakers of 88 dB sensitivity or above. Since the Class A circuit delivers exceptional current, it also drives less sensitive designs — though smaller to medium-sized rooms are the most natural fit.
What does "no degenerative feedback" mean?
Degenerative feedback is used in many amplifiers to correct distortion after the fact. Pass Labs avoids it deliberately, since feedback can reduce musical directness and tonal richness. Consequently, the INT-25 sounds more open and natural than many amplifiers with better measured distortion figures.
Does the INT-25 have a built-in DAC or phono stage?
No — it is a pure line-level integrated amplifier with no DAC or phono stage. Since every additional function adds another stage to the signal path, Pass Labs regards their omission as a sonic advantage rather than a limitation.
