Pass Labs INT-60 integrated amplifier – 60 W Class AB with the first 30 W in pure Class A

The middle ground — and it's a very good place to be

The Pass Labs INT-60 sits between the INT-25 and the INT-250 in the Pass Labs integrated amplifier lineup. Since the first 30 W operate in pure Class A, the circuit consequently combines the directness and tonal richness of Class A with the versatility and dynamic range of Class AB. After the Class A threshold is reached, it transitions seamlessly to Class AB for the remaining headroom. Therefore, it covers a wider range of loudspeakers and room sizes than the INT-25 — making it the most versatile choice in the range.

Pure Class A at everyday listening levels

At normal listening volumes the INT-60 operates entirely in Class A — the most direct and musically expressive amplification principle. As a result, it delivers the open, nuanced and emotionally engaging character that defines the Pass Labs sound. Furthermore, it follows the same minimalist signal path approach as the INT-25: as little as possible between source and speaker. Since the volume control works in 1 dB steps over 63 dB, gain adjustment is thereby precise at any level.

Versatile, composed and undemanding to live with

Equally at home with intimate chamber music and large-scale orchestral recordings, the INT-60 handles both without effort. Four line inputs and two outputs consequently fit naturally into virtually any system. Above all, at 42 kg it reflects the build quality and power supply capacity that Pass Labs brings to every product. Stereophile described its dominant trait as the ability to draw the listener in — playing record after record without ever feeling the urge to stop.

Hand-built in Auburn, California

Every INT-60 is designed and built by Pass Labs in Auburn, California. Stereophile included it in their Recommended Components list in 2019 and 2020. Furthermore, Positive Feedback awarded it the Writers' Choice Award in both 2015 and 2017, and Everything Audio Network recognised it with the Stellar Sound Award in 2017. Those needing more power can consequently step up to the INT-250, which delivers 250 W in Class AB with the same character.

Frequently asked questions about the Pass Labs INT-60

What is the difference between the INT-60 and the INT-25?

The INT-25 delivers 25 W in pure Class A — ideal for sensitive loudspeakers in smaller rooms. By contrast, the INT-60 delivers 60 W, since the first 30 W operate in Class A before transitioning to Class AB. It consequently handles a broader range of loudspeakers and larger rooms while retaining the same musical character.

Which loudspeakers suit the INT-60?

With 60 W and a seamless Class A to AB transition, the INT-60 suits loudspeakers of 85 dB sensitivity or above. Since compact standmounts and medium-sized floorstanders are both well within its range, it is therefore the most adaptable model in the Pass Labs integrated lineup.

Does the INT-60 have a built-in DAC or phono stage?

No — it is a pure line-level integrated amplifier. Since every additional function adds another stage to the signal path, Pass Labs consequently omits them to preserve maximum sonic purity.
