The smallest in the MC range — not the least in performance

The Spatial Europe MC Series No1 is the entry point of the MC series and a fully specified three-way open-baffle loudspeaker with a 15-inch woofer. A sensitivity of 93 dB/W/m means it drives easily from 12 watts — consequently it works superbly with single-ended tube amplifiers such as the Spatial No1 amp, as well as with more powerful transistor designs. Furthermore, the series crossover ensures a coherent, phase-correct presentation in which all drivers move as a single unit. The MC Series No1 is available at Novus Audio in Kampen.

Series crossover — coherence by design

The series crossover is the technical centrepiece of the Spatial Europe MC Series No1. Unlike parallel crossovers, a series network drives all transducers from a single shared circuit, thereby achieving inherently better phase integration between woofer, midrange, and tweeter. The result is music that sounds uncontrived, spacious, and natural — with a wide soundstage, strong retrieval of fine detail, and a sense of depth that box loudspeakers rarely match. The three-way system comprises a modified 15-inch woofer, an 8-inch coaxial driver with integrated 1.75-inch tweeter, and a sealed compression driver.

Premium components throughout the signal path

The MC Series No1 uses a carefully selected set of passive components. Low-impedance iron-core inductors, Mundorf and Intertechnik capacitors, and Mundorf Supreme resistors keep signal losses in the crossover to a minimum. WBT NextGen binding posts and phosphor bronze connectors furthermore guarantee optimal contact quality at the amplifier interface. Internal wiring uses 8N solid-core copper throughout, therefore maintaining maximum transparency from woofer to tweeter.

Placement and amplifier matching

Spatial Europe recommends a minimum distance of 65 cm from the rear wall and a listening distance of at least 2.5 metres in a room of no less than 15 m². The 8-ohm impedance and high sensitivity make the No1 broadly compatible — it pairs equally well with PrimaLuna tube amplifiers and solid-state designs from brands such as Pass Labs. The No1 is supplied as standard in glimmer lacquer black or white; wood veneer finishes are available at extra cost.
