Spatial Europe MC Series No3 – the largest open-baffle in the MC range with twin 15-inch woofers
Twin 15-inch woofers and 97 dB — bass you feel as much as hear
The Spatial Europe MC Series No3 is the largest loudspeaker in the MC line, combining two 15-inch woofers with an 8-inch coaxial driver and a 1.75-inch spherical wave horn. A sensitivity of 97 dB/W/m means the system operates from as little as 5 watts — consequently it pairs naturally with single-ended tube amplifiers such as the Spatial Europe AMP No2 or AMP No3. Despite its impressive height of 116 cm, the cabinet depth of just 7.6 cm keeps the No3 visually slim. The MC Series No3 is available at Novus Audio in Kampen.
Twin 15-inch woofers — scale, depth, and control
Two 15-inch woofers deliver an in-room frequency response from 33 Hz to 21 kHz. Open-baffle construction eliminates cabinet pressure, therefore producing bass that is faster, drier, and better integrated with the midrange than any box loudspeaker can achieve. Furthermore, the dipole radiation pattern significantly reduces room mode excitation, consequently resulting in a controlled and natural presentation even in larger listening spaces. Spatial Europe recommends a minimum listening distance of 3 metres in a room of at least 20 m².
Coaxial mid-high with spherical wave horn
Placing the tweeter at the acoustic centre of the 8-inch midrange driver achieves phase integration that is inherently more precise than systems with separately positioned drivers. The spherical wave horn furthermore ensures a wide and even dispersion pattern, thereby keeping the tonal character consistent across a broad listening area. All three ways are driven by a single series crossover network — built into the 60 mm aluminium plinth — which consequently maximises phase cooperation between woofer, midrange, and tweeter. The crossover is upgradeable, moreover, so future optimisations require no full replacement.
Components, sustainability, and placement
Internal wiring is 8N solid-core copper throughout; low-impedance Mundorf layer-core inductors, Intertechnik capacitors, Mundorf Supreme resistors, and WBT NextGen binding posts complete the signal path. Spatial Europe hand-assembles every loudspeaker in Ingolstadt using plastic-free packaging and regional suppliers, therefore combining sonic quality with environmental responsibility. Standard finishes are glimmer lacquer black or white; wood veneer is available at extra cost. All Spatial Europe loudspeakers furthermore require approximately 500 hours of run-in — a dedicated run-in service is available through Spatial Europe.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the MC Series No2 and the MC Series No3?
The No3 uses two 15-inch woofers compared to two 12-inch woofers in the No2 — consequently sensitivity, bass extension, and dynamic headroom are all higher. Furthermore, the No3 requires a larger listening room of at least 20 m² and a minimum listening distance of 3 metres.
Is the 4-ohm impedance a problem for my amplifier?
Most quality tube and solid-state amplifiers handle 4 ohms without difficulty. Thanks to the 97 dB sensitivity, as little as 5 watts is sufficient — therefore the No3 places no high demands on amplifier output power. Contact Novus Audio for advice on the best amplifier pairing for your system.
What is the minimum room size for the Spatial Europe MC Series No3?
Spatial Europe recommends a minimum room of 20 m² with at least 65 cm clearance behind the speaker and a listening distance of at least 3 metres. For smaller rooms, the MC Series No1 or No2 is the more suitable choice. Our specialists are happy to advise on the right model for your space.
