The Raidho X1t is a two-way standmount that packs serious engineering into a genuinely compact cabinet. Combining the brand's planar magnetic ribbon tweeter with a 5.25-inch tantalum-coated Ceramix mid-bass driver, it consequently delivers resolution, coherence, and soundstaging well beyond what its dimensions suggest. Above all, the X1t demonstrates that driver technology — not cabinet volume — determines sonic character. Every component is designed and assembled in Pandrup, Denmark.

The ribbon tweeter: Raidho's constant across the range

The planar magnetic tweeter in the X1t is identical to the unit used throughout the entire Raidho lineup. Its 11-micron foil weighs just 20 milligrams, thereby providing fifty times less moving mass than a conventional dome tweeter. Since there is no voice coil, conductor traces are embedded directly in the foil — eliminating a significant source of coloration. Furthermore, the first breakup mode sits at 82kHz. Treble is therefore detailed, airy, and free of listening fatigue over extended sessions.

The tantalum-Ceramix driver: the 't' explained

The 5.25-inch Ceramix mid-bass driver is the defining feature of the X1t. Its aluminium cone first undergoes plasma-oxidation, growing a ceramic skin of aluminium oxide. A further coating of tantalum is then applied — a refractory metal with a melting point of nearly 3,000°C. This additional layer stiffens the membrane considerably without adding mass, consequently pushing the first breakup mode to 15kHz. Since that point sits almost two octaves above the 3.5kHz crossover, the driver operates in a distortion-free region throughout its entire working range.

Cabinet, placement, and amplification

At 145 × 320 × 230mm and 8kg, the X1t is among the most compact reference-class standmounts available. The bass-reflex port is front-facing, therefore making placement less critical than with rear-ported designs. Raidho recommends rooms up to around 25 square metres for full bass performance, though the X1t scales well in larger spaces with subwoofer support. Impedance stays above 6Ω throughout, making it a straightforward load for valve amplifiers. A minimum of 50 watts is recommended. The X1t is available in piano black and piano white; a matching Single Stand is available separately.

How does the X1t compare with the X1.6?

The X1t is smaller and lighter, with a 5.25-inch driver compared to the X1.6's 6.5-inch unit. Consequently, bass extension reaches 70Hz rather than the X1.6's 45Hz. The X1t's tantalum coating, however, gives it a technologically superior cone treatment — something the X1.6 does not feature. Both models share the same ribbon tweeter, therefore carrying the same Raidho signature in the treble from the first note onwards. The choice between them comes down primarily to room size and bass requirements.
